Thank you [info]calturner for the snowflake cookie!

I don't really have anything to update here. Jordan was nominated for Snowflake Queen for the Snowflake (hence the name LOL) dance next week, so got another stressful hair-fixing, make-up-doing night ahead of me. It means alot to her, though, that she's being nominated for these kinds of things after all the crap she's been through. My niece was nominated for princess and also for princess for the Courtwarming dance in January.

I haven't gotten hardly any Christmas shopping done, but that's not unusual for us. Brad and I are both procrastinators.

Yep, that's all I got going on :)

I haven't updated since June.

Well, not much going on here. I'm not liking my job as well as I used to, but it may just be that I wasn't ready to go back. Summer just flew by and it didn't seem like it was time for school to start when it did. It'll be half over in December, though. I gotta keep telling myself that.

The girls are all doing fine. In October, Jordan was nominated for Homecoming Queen and although she didn't win, she was the most beautiful girl out there (no bias here LOL). Piper was also chosen to be an attendant for homecoming so I had double stress that day. She also lost a tooth a half hour before she was to get her hair done and I didn't think we'd ever get it to stop bleeding or her to stop crying. That's something I can laugh about now, but I was on the verge of tears when it happened. It had rained that day and the day before, so the football field was a muddy, nasty mess. Jordan was the only one not dressed like a ho (sorry other girls, but your dresses were all waaaay to short), so she was able to wear boots under her dress and no one even knew the difference. Tabitha is our little sports-queen. She played volleyball this fall and is playing club volleyball through the winter. Club vb will be more difficult since we travel all over the state of MO for tournaments and run into some really good teams. I'm glad she's found something she loves and focuses on.

Brecken is still doing wonderfully and still the best baby I've ever seen. That's not bias talking either, he's just the sweetest little thing. Jordan is still doing a good job being a mom and taking good care of him, but I do keep an eye on her. She was accepted to a little junior college for next year and has plans to become a pharmacy tech. I hope that all goes as planned. The father still doesn't have anything to do with her. He, for some reason, came to a couple of football games this year and that upset her. He's from a different town and has no reason to come to games here. Plus everyone hates him here and thinks he's a douchebag. Whatever, we don't need him.

Okay, that's all I got. See y'all in 6 months :)

Yowsa, it's been a long time since I've been here.   My life is pretty boring, so it's not like everyone has missed out with me not updating.

I'm on Summer break now (yippee!) and was hired back for next year (double yippee!).  I'll have extra duties next year, so I got a raise (triple yippee!).  I do like working there, but I was starting to get a bit burned out by May.  I work with some rough teenagers and they were wearing me out.

Brecken is still as sweet as can be.  He's getting to be a fatty-fat, which is how all babies should be.  I'll post a pic or two with this update ([ add a picture of Jordan at prom, too.  She was beautiful.  Of course, I'm her mom, so I have the right to be biased LOL).  He does have to go to the children's hospital in KC on the 16th for an echocardiogram.  The doctor thinks he has a murmer, but he's not real concerned and I'm not either.  I have a murmer and it's never given me any problems.

Huh, other than all three girls playing ball this summer, I don't have any big plans.  I don't think we'll even get to go on a vacation, which sucks, but I think everyone is pretty much in the same boat.  Someday things will get better.

See, I didn't have anything to say.  I hope everyone is doing well.

New picture.

Jordan and Brecken )
He's still really good, but he's waking up in the middle of the night alot like a normal baby now.

Also we had to take him to the children's hospital in Kansas City on Monday evening.  Jordan noticed his chest was caving in alot when he breathed, so at his bilirubin check (that's okay now) she had a nurse look at it.  She said it wasn't normal and so the doctor ordered a chest x-ray, he didn't like how it looked and told us to get him up the city as soon as we could.  That's a nearly two-hour drive, so we didn't get there until after 6pm, then we waited in a private waiting room (since he was so young) for another 2 hours.  Then Jordan and I were sent to a curtained off area in the ER, where we waited another two hours.  Finally, after another X-ray, we were told that, despite his birth size, he was probably a bit premature and his chest muscles weren't quite developed.

Thankfully, it's nothing serious and will correct itself  as he gets stronger.  It already isn't as bad as it was.  We had to drive home in the middle of the night, in the worst rainstorm I've ever been in (there was a tornado around my town that night) but that was okay as long as he was going to be fine.

Hello.  I hope everyone is recovering from their holiday.  I am, but my house isn't.  My girls always get waaaay too much for Christmas.  My brother and sister have always spoiled them rotten.

My favorite gift was a beautiful heavy coat from my parents.  I've been wearing a lined windbreaker for two years now and that just doesn't work against zero degree weather.  There was no reason for me not to have a heavy coat, it just seemed like I always had something more important to buy when I had the money.  Brad is also going to rebuild my computer.  I'm going to get a 21 (uh, 24 maybe?) inch flat-screen monitor, which I very excited about.

Tell me some of the things you got.

My sister wanted a picture of the Campbell grand and great-grand children on Christmas day that I'll post here in just a second.  As you can see, there were other cameras being used and no one was looking at the same one at the same time.  The front row is Piper, Kara (my niece)  and Tabitha.  Back row is Jordan (and her pregnant belly), my nephew's wife Laura, holding Katie and my nephew Scott, holding Collin.   Then it's Brittanni, Ryan (who's here until Jan 2nd, then back to San Diego for more training before heading to Iraq) and Alexis.  My brother was talking about how hard it is to buy because we keep adding new kids each year LOL.

Huh, it's been a while ( [info]calturner 's bd is in July).  I hadn't realized I was away so long.

Other than school starting and it going okay, nothing new to talk about.  Piper absolutely loves kindergarten and Jordan is still pregnant.  We get to hear the heartbeat at her next appointment on Tuesday.  That should be exciting.

Our 2,300 mums are starting to bloom out.  As soon as they're all the way out, I'll take a picture and post it.   I can't wait to see them, but I'm more anxious to get them sold

Yeah, nothing to see here.

I'm baking brownies at 1:00am.   When I'm not bored Summer vacation. IS. AWESOME !

And so is Dr Horrible!  Thank you Jo for turning me on to this.  I can't wait until Thursday.

What's not awesome is There Will Be Blood.   What a stupid, crazy-assed movie.  I'm so glad I didn't pay to see that in the theater.

I took Jordan to get her belly-button pierced the other day.   That makes her 9th piercing, but I think that's all she wants done.  She'll move on to tats now.  I actually don't mind, but alot of people I know do.  It was funny, we stopped at Wal-Mart and saw my preacher's wife there and  I told her where we'd been.  She said that her and a friend took a bunch of aspirin, used ice and orajel and pierced theirs themselves one time.   Now, after four kids (and pregnant with her 5th) she has a big, honkin scar.  She told her to be careful take good care of it.  Brittanni has a big scar after having Alexis now, too.

Speaking of Alexis, she's going to be a year old on the 25th.  Can you believe that?  I haven't posted any pictures of her since she was born.  That's really not good grandparenting is it?

Also, Ryan (Britt's bf, Alexis' dad) is going to Iraq in January.  He goes to special training in October for three months and then he's gone.   I knew it was coming, but it's still hard to think about.

and lastly  the A-C is still not fixed.   Kelly (A-C guy) told Brad this afternoon that he'd be here this evening, but never showed......again.   He probably lit up a fatty with his permantly stoned wife and forgot about it.   Still, the heat doesn't bother me as much as the girls and Brad.
Okey doke, the brownies are done, so I'm going to eat one and go to bed.

Our air-conditioner is broken.  When it was working, we had to turn it off to take a shower or do laundry because it would cause the water to shock us.   Now you would think that something like that would make the heating/plumbing/ac guy get right over and figure it out, right?  Nope, he's such a burn-out that I'm surprised he even remembers how to breathe every day.  Unfortunately,  small town = no other option.  The heat doesn't bother me as much as it does Brad, but night time is pretty uncomfortable and I've slept on the couch for the last week.   The poor girls have also been miserable;  their bedrooms don't cool down, even at night with the windows open.

I have Mad Men in my queue at Netflix and hopefully we'll get it before they realize we don't have a debit card any more and cancel our account.   I've heard nothing but good things about it and I would like to check it out.   Right now we have No Country For Old Men (watched it last night and liked it), There Will Be Blood, and Arrested Development.  If we get these sent back quick enough,  I should be able to get it by next week.

Is anyone on my flist watching Swingtown?  I really like it, but Brad thinks it the greatest.  He graduated in '79, so this is bringing back memories for him.  I, on the other hand was four when it's supposed to take place, so I don't remember any of it.   The hairstyle's and clothing are awesome, though and that's something I didn't think I'd ever say about the 70's.  I'd love to have Trina's style and look as good as she does in it.

Not that I'm ready for school to start again, but man, I've been bored.  I honestly wonder if all these years when I thought I was depressed (other than the post-partem when I know I was depressed), I was just bored.  I had been home for nearly 17 years (sporadic job here and there) when I started at the school and the entire year, never really got down like I usually do during Winter (well, maybe a couple of times, but it didn't last).   Right now, I'm starting to feel like I used to.  I guess I'll just wait and see what happens this next year.

and that's all.

We got a colon cleanser in the mail today.    Whoever stole our debit number either has a problem or a sense of humor.

I'm only laughing about because we're getting a refund.

Great.   We got a package in the mail today that had a pair of gaudy, ugly earrings in it that neither of us ordered.  So, Brad got to looking and yep, someone has our debit card number.  We have a bunch of charges for weird things, but at least there's nothing that's too large;  $10 here and $8 there.   We canceled the card and ordered another one.

People suck

Not that anyone on my flist cares, but we got tickets to the July 22nd Royals game.   Good seats, too.   The two things I want is for them to win and to see Joakim Soria pitch.   That would make my night.    Heh, Jordan woke me up from a David DeJesus dream this morning.  If I could find a good pic of him, I'd post it to show why waking up from that is so disappointing LOL

And again,  Have a safe and Happy Fourth tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions for the question in my last post.   I'll give them all a try and see what happens.

I signed up for Hulu.    Yeah, now I'll never leave my computer; by the end of the Summer, I'll be all pale and have dark circles under my eyes.   I've watched a ton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the last day or so and have Charlie's voice constantly screaming in the back of my head now.   LOL.   I couldn't find any Oz, though.   Bummer.

We have about 500 + mums planted now and it only took a week.........only 1,600 more.    Yeah, it sucks.  The actual planting in the pots part isn't that bad, but the setting them on the ground cover and sticking the drip-tube in is a back-killer.    I want for this to be successful, but the thought of doing this every Spring isn't fun.

Everyone have a good week and a safe & happy 4th.

Well, Tabitha's team got first place in the tournament.   They lost their first game tonight, though.  Luckily, since it was a double-elimination tournament, they got to turn back around a play again.  They played the same team they had just lost to and were able to pull it off 4-0.   It would have been nice to go undefeated this season, but losing this one may have been good for them; they realized they weren't invincible.

Does anyone here have a DVR?  I love mine, but occasionally it pisses me off.  I had it set to record the Royals' game while we were gone tonight and for some reason, it only recorded the first 10 minutes and then stopped.  It's done that a couple of times before, but nothing that was a big deal.  I just wondered if anyone has any ideas what happened and how I can keep it from happening again.

Well, it's nearly 3am now (I'm taking advantage of having the Summer off), Brad is getting ready for work and I'm getting sleepy.   Have a good weekend, everyone.

Tabitha's team won another tourney game tonight, so they'll be playing for 1st tomorrow night.   I'm so glad this is almost over.  This is the only year since forever that I've only had one child playing ball.  Next year, Jordan will be playing in a HS league (they play twice a week), Tabitha will be playing in Junior league (games twice a week) and Piper will be starting t-ball (games on Fridays).    That summer will fly by.

I feel so uneasy right now.  I can't settle down and feel like I want to crawl out of my skin.

I've just gotten home from the town fair.  One more night and it's over for another year.  It's really gotten easier since Tabitha and Jordan can just go off by themselves now and we only have to take Piper to the rides.  I can't wait until the time when I can just sit and listen to the live music and visit with people while Piper walks around with friends.  It'll happen one day.

I don't think I've ever mentioned the side-business Brad has going.  He started a greenhouse last year and raised mums (and a few veggies).  He had about 300 and they went very quickly, so he's being ambitious this year and trying 2,100.   Our whole backyard is groundcover now and for the last 3 days, we've been filling pots with soil.  When we get that done, we'll plant the mums in the pots, lay them out and stick in drip-tubing.  I'm not looking forward to the drip-tubing, but it will save us from having to water all 2,100 of them by hand.   By fall, our backyard should be quite a sight.  Just the three-hundred last year was a color-explosion.    We had cucumbers, tomatoes, zuchinni, spinich and lettuce fresh from the greenhouse whenever we wanted this spring.   We actually still have a ton of cucumbers.  I pray that he can make a profit of some sore from all of this hard, hot work.   If nothing else, smelling the fresh soil in January is enough to lift my spirits.

Well, my guys lost tonight, but I'm trying to be okay about it.  They'd won 5-in-a-row (they played really well in some of those games, too), so I guess I'll give them this one.

I was watching Cold Case today and one episode had Maggie Grace, Amber Benson and Katee Sackhoff in it.    I'm entertained by that show, but the wrap-ups are always too easy;  the killer always confesses in the end.    The music is always really good, though.

Tabitha has a game tonight, but it doesn't start until 8:30.  They play the other Appleton City team and I always dread that.   Girls are bitches anyway, but pit them against each other?   Yikes.   Some of the parents  are pretty bad, too *looks innocent*

Is that Emma Caulfield in the Progressive Auto Insurance commercial I've been seeing?  It looks like her, but it doesn't sound like her.  Maybe if she said "penis" I'd know for sure?
